Land Doula Cohort

Reuniting with Land and Land-based culture

The Land Doula Cohort is our first learning cohort—one we have been deeply honored to help coalesce and support. It brings together four land projects, each guided by visionary leadership from Indigenous and diasporic Indigenous women. Across the cohort, these projects share a common origin story: the immense early-stage labor of land transition—establishing legal and financial structures, mobilizing resources, and tending relationships with Land and community—was carried by one or two women willing to be fully accountable to a long-held vision. With the guidance of advisors and elders, these vision keepers also recognized that sustaining the Land over generations would require additional support: a transition of title and governance into emerging forms capable of holding the long-term needs of both Land and community.
